My Safe FL Home is a state-run program that offers grants of up to $10,000 per household, helping eligible homeowners pay for critical wind-mitigation upgrades like impact-resistant windows, fortified doors and roof reinforcements.

1. Free Wind-Mitigation Inspection
   Florida homeowners having a site-built, owner‑occupied single-family home or townhouse (with homestead exemption) can receive a no-cost, no‑obligation wind‑mitigation home inspection. 2. Matching Grant of Up to $10,000
   Eligible homeowners may apply for a grant covering two-thirds of approved mitigation projects after completing inspection, up to $10,000. That means for every $1 you spend, the state contributes $2.

   Completing mitigation upgrades may qualify you for wind‑mitigation credits, potentially lowering homeowner insurance costs. Check with your insurance provider to learn more.

FPL’s Care to Share Program offers up to $750 in emergency assistance to low-income Miami-Dade households at risk of utility disconnection. Eligible residents can apply once every 12 months through Community Resource Centers, depending on available funding.
