Anette Mago *(she/her/ella) | Community Economic Development Coordinator
Anette Mago is a Venezuelan-American conceptual artist and community organizer based in South Florida. As the current CED (Community Economic Development) Coordinator for Catalyst Miami, she aids and facilitates services that provide technical and strategic assistance to small businesses/entrepreneurs based in Miami-Dade. Prior to Catalyst, Anette became the creator of an art-wear brand in 2020, Alobebi, focused on cultivating unity and healing within the Latine community. The challenges of this experience inspired Anette to pivot into community organizing building support systems for creators in South Florida like herself. In 2022, she launched a non-profit collective alongside her co-founder called Pana MIA Club to develop a platform that fosters a locally-sourced lifestyle.
Though the trajectory of her mission has changed over the years, her commitment to community building and creative thinking has only strengthened. In her perspective, everything is an art project — just with different skills and resources needed to bring it to life.
Anette holds a Bachelor’s in Visual Art Studies from the University of Florida with minors in Graphic Design, Innovative Entrepreneurship and Latin American Studies. She is passionate about connecting communities and building systems of support for local creators. You can catch her exploring the local scene, reading, dancing, trying good food anywhere she can find it, and of course creating art and going to art-related events whenever she can.
