MIAMI, FL – On October 17, 2017, Catalyst Miami will begin providing free financial services to constituents of the Consulate General of Mexico over the next 2 years. Funded by JPMorgan Chase & Co. with a $350,000 grant, the partnership is part of a greater initiative to increase the financial wellness of low- and middle-income immigrant families by providing them with critical services during their consulate visits.

“Our large immigrant population makes our city culturally distinct within the national landscape; however, our population also faces unique challenges in terms of building financial wellbeing,” said Gretchen Beesing, CEO of Catalyst Miami.

“This partnership will help us provide better information and access to financial services, empowering families to achieve their goals. Immigrant families work hard and contribute to the communities where they live; by eliminating barriers and opening financial opportunities their positive impact will be bolstered” said Consul General Horacio Saavedra.

Catalyst Miami’s experienced financial coaching staff will deliver financial services including financial coaching, family budgeting, access to emergency loans, credit building products, tax assistance, and savings opportunities. The coaching team has received various awards for using innovative practices in its financial work with low- and middle-income residents in Miami-Dade County.

Services will be offered at no cost on Tuesdays from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M in the Consulate General of Mexico offices.
