JOB TITLE: Grants Manager

SALARY: $60,000-65,000

 

SUMMARY:  Creates and coordinates grant proposals to support the organization’s annual operations and program development; seeks to increase external support for the organization and its programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Researches and identifies new funding opportunities from private foundations, corporations, and local and federal agencies.
  • Develops, creates, writes, prepares, and completes grant proposals.
  • Develops and updates proposal calendar; tracks and communicates results of proposal submissions.
  • Maintains the quality-control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each document or publication, including but not limited to in-process and final reviews, researching of appropriate data and information, and editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards.
  • Gains and maintains familiarity with past and current funded proposals and with all organization funding opportunities.
  • Gains and maintains an understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and the organization.
  • Organizes and oversees the maintenance and updating of a gift opportunities database to include all proposals and other departmental funding status.
  • Coordinates all aspects of government grant writing including but not limited to complete comprehension of grant requirements and financial and program reporting.
  • Works with staff to collect the most accurate and up-to-date information on organization’s programs and program needs and conduct timely and accurate reporting for each grant.
  • Works with other potential funding opportunities to design and execute collaborative grant initiatives.
  • Supports writing of annual report and other writing assignments, including op-eds, award submissions, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position does not directly supervise employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.)
  • Two to four years related writing experience
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely as well as edit copy for clarity and

     grammatical accuracy

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing

     priorities with enthusiasm

  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of web-based platforms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:

  • Ability to work in a shared-workspace environment
  • Stretch and bend to organize and distribute materials for Catalyst Miami activities
  • Able to sit at desk for long periods of time and utilize computer for extended periods
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate organization needs, including evening and weekends. Out of town travel may be required.
