By Santra Denis, Senior Director of Community Health

Miami is known for many things: beaches, nightclubs, café con leche, pastelitos, Fisher Island, and much more. But did you know that Miami also led the nation in having the most signups in states using the HealthCare.gov platform in the 2015 open enrollment period?

Yes, we did. We want a repeat! Let’s lead the nation in having the most signups again.

In even more exciting news, Florida has removed the five year waiting period for legally residing immigrant children to be eligible for Florida KidCare & Medicaid! Now, more kids can #GetCovered!

Get health insurance for 2017 by participating in Open Enrollment, November 1, 2016- January 31, 2017. Those interested in applying for Medicaid or Kidcare for their children can apply year-round. Please prepare to provide documents to verify information about your income, citizenship, and immigration status.

Catalyst Miami’s Community Health coordinators navigate and connect clients to health insurance and other resources to meet client’s basic needs such as Food Stamps (SNAP), temporary cash assistance, SafeLink, free tax assistance, credit building, etc. We are looking forward to navigating people through their healthcare coverage options this open enrollment period.
